"Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; So your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine" (Proverbs 3:9-10).
God was the first one to set an example of giving. "For God so loved the world, He gave His only Son..." (John 3:16). In gratitude and honor, Christians imitate their Father through their own giving. Jesus said, "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you" (Luke 6:38). This is a promise of provision and trust. As we mix our faith with His Word and give to the Lord, we can be assured He will take care of our needs.
